The International Society for Twin Studies (ISTS) was founded in 1974, in Rome. It is a not-for-profit, multidisciplinary scientific organization. The aim of the Society is to advance research and knowledge in all fields of science related to twins and/or twin studies, for the benefit of both twins and their families as well as worldwide scientific communities.[1]
The Society holds a tri-annual Congress on Twin Studies, the first being in Rome, Italy, in 1974 and the most recent being in Seoul, South Korea, in 2010.[2]
The journal Twin Research and Human Genetics is the official journal of the International Society for Twin Studies.
